Associate QA Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an Associate QA Engineer who is passionate about software quality and wants to play an active role in delivering reliable, scalable, and high-quality software products.

What We're Looking For

• 1+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance / Software Testing
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
• Good knowledge of functional and non-functional testing
• Experience creating test cases, test scenarios, test plans, and test reports
• Strong understanding of API testing using tools such as Postman
• Good understanding of REST APIs
• Experience with database testing and basic SQL queries
• Understanding of web application testing
• Good knowledge of Smoke, Sanity, Regression, Integration, and Exploratory Testing
• Understanding of the Defect/Bug Life Cycle
• Good understanding of Severity vs Priority
• Experience with issue tracking tools such as Jira
• Familiarity with Git and software development workflows
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Automation & Technical Skills

• Basic experience or understanding of test automation
• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar tools is an advantage
• Understanding of automated API testing is an advantage
• Basic understanding of JavaScript / TypeScript or another programming language
• Familiarity with Docker is an advantage
• Understanding of microservices and distributed systems is an advantage
• Basic understanding of Kafka / event-driven systems is a plus
• Familiarity with AWS or cloud-based applications is an advantage

What You'll Do

• Analyze requirements and identify potential quality risks
• Create detailed test scenarios and test cases
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing
• Test REST APIs and backend services
• Perform database validation using SQL
• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira
• Work closely with developers to investigate and reproduce issues
• Participate in sprint planning, refinement, and other Agile ceremonies
• Contribute to test automation initiatives
• Perform regression testing for new releases
• Validate fixes and ensure defects are properly resolved
• Support release and deployment validation
• Continuously improve QA processes and testing practices
