Associate QA Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Design, develop, and execute manual test cases and test scenarios.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing before releases.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and Product Owners to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Assist in API and database testing where required.
  • Contribute to QA process improvements and documentation.
  • Learn and support automation testing initiatives where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
  • Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Knowledge of test case design, test execution, defect reporting, and defect life cycle.
  • Basic knowledge of API testing using Postman or Swagger is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of automation testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • ISTQB Foundation Certification will be an added advantage.
