Product Owner

Job Description

VitalHub Innovations Lab is looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our growing product team in Sri Lanka. This role is pivotal in shaping the direction and success of our healthcare software solutions by translating customer and business needs into clear product requirements and driving their successful execution. You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Customer Success, Professional Services, Sales, and clients to deliver innovative, high-quality products that create meaningful value for healthcare organizations. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, a passion for product excellence, and the ability to operate effectively at both strategic and detailed levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities align with strategic business objectives, customer needs, market opportunities, and product roadmaps.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineering teams, and stakeholders to define product vision, release plans, priorities, and delivery objectives.
• Gather, analyze, and document business and product requirements from customers, internal stakeholders, market trends, and competitive insights, translating them into actionable product outcomes.
• Drive product releases by ensuring requirements are well understood, dependencies are managed, risks are mitigated, and delivery remains on track.
• Build strong relationships with customers and act as their advocate, ensuring their feedback and evolving needs are effectively reflected within the product roadmap.
• Provide clear and timely updates on product progress, release status, priorities, risks, and key decisions to Product Managers and stakeholders.
• Work cross-functionally with Professional Services, Sales, Customer Support, Marketing, and Engineering teams to ensure successful adoption and delivery of product enhancements and releases.
• Create and maintain high-quality product documentation, including business requirements, business cases, release plans, feature specifications, and product communications.
• Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and product excellence by identifying opportunities to enhance functionality, usability, customer value, and operational effectiveness.
• Support product demonstrations, customer presentations, onboarding activities, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to help drive product success and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Owner, Senior Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar product delivery role within a software product organization. Experience working with international customers is preferred.
• Proven experience managing product backlogs, defining requirements, prioritizing work, and supporting successful product delivery within Agile environments.
• Strong ability to translate business needs into well-defined product requirements and communicate them effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent articulation and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, confidently, and professionally.
• Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, presentation, negotiation, and consensus-building skills.
• Highly detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills, time management capabilities, and a disciplined approach to product execution.
• Experience working closely with software engineering teams and a strong understanding of modern software development lifecycles, Agile practices, and product delivery methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, proactively identify risks, and drive initiatives to successful outcomes.
• Healthcare, clinical systems, healthcare technology, or care management domain expertise will be considered a strong advantage.
• Professional certifications in Product Ownership, Product Management, Agile Product Delivery, Business Analysis, or related disciplines will be considered an advantage.
• Technical background with the ability to understand software products, system capabilities, and technical constraints will be considered an advantage.
