Junior Executive - IT Support

Job Description

The Junior Executive - IT Support will provide day-to-day technical and operational support to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization's IT systems, end-user devices, infrastructure, and related technology services. The role will primarily focus on user support, system monitoring, backup monitoring, patch updates, antivirus/endpoint security updates, hardware and software troubleshooting, and routine IT operational activities. The position will work closely with the IT Infrastructure team and other IT staff to ensure systems remain available, updated, secure, and properly maintained.

Job Profile

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to users for desktops, laptops, printers, applications, network connectivity, email, and other IT-related issues.
  • Monitor daily backup jobs and backup status and immediately escalate backup failures or exceptions to the relevant IT personnel. Maintain backup monitoring records and support periodic backup restoration testing and related documentation.
  • Support operating system, application, and security patch management activities for desktops, laptops, servers, and other assigned systems. Monitor and ensure antivirus, endpoint protection, and security agents are installed, operational, and regularly updated. Follow up on devices with outdated antivirus definitions, security agents, operating systems, or missing patches.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
  • Support troubleshooting of hardware, software, network, email, Microsoft 365, and application-related issues.
  • Assist with user account creation, modification, password resets, access changes, and account deactivation based on approved requests.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities by preparing, configuring, issuing, collecting, and checking IT equipment.
  • Maintain proper records of IT assets, devices, software installations, licenses, accessories, and equipment movements.
  • Support routine monitoring of servers, storage, network devices, internet links, UPS systems, and other IT infrastructure where assigned. Assist in monitoring system availability and escalate system, network, application, or infrastructure issues in a timely manner.
  • Support endpoint security, removable media controls, device compliance, and other IT security controls implemented by the organization.
  • Assist with software installation, upgrades, updates, and configuration changes under the guidance of senior IT staff.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly IT operational checklists and monitoring records.
  • Support vulnerability remediation activities, patch follow-up, and closure of identified technical issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for troubleshooting, warranty claims, hardware replacement, maintenance, and technical support.
  • Assist in maintaining technical documentation, system records, inventories, support logs, and IT operational reports.
  • Support IT audit, information security, regulatory, and compliance-related activities by providing required records and evidence.
  • Ensure incidents and user requests are recorded, followed up, and closed within acceptable timelines.
  • Provide technical support during system implementations, upgrades, migrations, and other IT projects.
  • Perform other IT infrastructure, system support, and operational duties assigned by the AGM - IT / Head of IT.

Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • Preferably 1-3 years of experience in IT Support, System Support, IT Infrastructure, Helpdesk, or a related technical role.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant technical knowledge and practical exposure may also be considered.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, desktop and laptop support, networking, printers, and common business applications.
  • Basic understanding of backup systems, patch management, antivirus/endpoint security, and IT security practices.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, user account management, Microsoft Windows Server, or endpoint management tools will be an added advantage. Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, software installation, and network troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to IT asset management, backup monitoring, vulnerability management, or IT audit requirements will be advantageous.
  • Good troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of the IT team.
  • Willingness to provide support outside normal working hours when required for system maintenance, month-end processing, upgrades, incidents, or other critical IT activities.
