Senior Tech Lead – Microsoft Power Platform

About the company

Our client is an established IT services firm specialising in enterprise applications (ERP and Microsoft business applications), data and AI. It has a delivery team of several hundred in Colombo serving enterprise customers.

About the role

Hands-on technical leadership: architect solutions, set governance and grow a developer team.

What you'll do

  • Architect and lead delivery of Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate (Cloud and Desktop) and Power BI solutions
  • Design secure, scalable data models on Dataverse, SharePoint and SQL
  • Integrate with Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Azure and third-party APIs, including custom connectors
  • Define governance, security, ALM and CI/CD for the Power Platform estate (CoE patterns, reusable components)
  • Lead and mentor developers, run code reviews and enforce standards
  • Translate business needs into solutions with stakeholders, BAs and product owners

What you need

  • 8+ years in software or solution development, including 5–6+ years hands-on with Power Platform (lead-level roles look for 10+ / 6+)
  • Expert in Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Dataverse
  • Custom development in Power Fx plus at least one of JavaScript, C#/.NET or Python
  • Solid with REST APIs, JSON, OAuth and Microsoft Graph
  • Experience leading or mentoring a technical team
  • Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent

Nice to have

  • Microsoft PL-600 (Solution Architect Expert); PL-400, PL-100 or PL-900
  • Azure Logic Apps, Functions, AI Builder, Copilot Studio / Power Virtual Agents
  • Finance or shared-services process automation (VBA, Power Query)
