Team Leader – Web Development (WordPress)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader – Web Development (WordPress) to lead our web development team and oversee the successful delivery of high-quality WordPress projects. In this role, you will manage developers, coordinate with designers and marketing teams, ensure projects are delivered on time, and maintain the highest standards of website quality, performance, security, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the WordPress web development team.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor daily development tasks and project timelines.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of WordPress websites.
  • Review code and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate with UI/UX designers, SEO specialists, and marketing teams to deliver projects efficiently.
  • Ensure websites are responsive, mobile-friendly, secure, and optimized for speed and SEO.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance to developers.
  • Manage website migrations, updates, backups, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure timely project completion.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide technical mentorship.
  • Train and support junior developers while encouraging continuous learning.
  • Improve team workflows, development processes, and overall productivity.
  • Stay updated with the latest WordPress technologies, tools, and industry trends.

Requirements

Experience

  • 4–6 years of professional experience in WordPress web development.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience leading or managing a web development team.
  • Proven experience managing multiple WordPress projects simultaneously.

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in WordPress development.
  • Experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Strong knowledge of Elementor or other WordPress page builders.
  • Experience with WooCommerce is an added advantage.
  • Ability to convert Figma designs into fully responsive WordPress websites.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.
  • Familiarity with Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, or similar front-end frameworks.
  • Experience with website performance optimization, security, backups, and migrations.
  • Understanding of SEO-friendly development best practices.
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems is preferred.
