Lead WordPress Web Developer

Role Overview

As a Lead WordPress Web Developer, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing high-quality WordPress websites. You will lead web development projects, collaborate with designers and marketing teams, and ensure websites are fast, secure, responsive, and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of WordPress websites
  • Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins
  • Convert Figma and design files into responsive WordPress websites
  • Customize WordPress themes and functionality based on project requirements
  • Optimize websites for speed, performance, security, and SEO
  • Ensure responsive and mobile-friendly website development
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and website errors
  • Manage website migrations, updates, backups, and maintenance
  • Collaborate with designers, SEO, and marketing teams
  • Review code and guide junior developers when required
  • Stay updated with the latest WordPress technologies and web development trends

Requirements

Experience

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in WordPress web development
  • Proven experience leading WordPress projects and managing multiple websites

Core Skills

  • Strong proficiency in WordPress development
  • Experience with custom themes and plugin development
  • Strong knowledge of Elementor or other WordPress page builders
  • Experience with WooCommerce is an advantage
  • Ability to convert Figma designs into WordPress websites
  • Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first development

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Experience with MySQL and WordPress database management
  • Familiarity with Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, or similar frameworks
  • Knowledge of website speed and performance optimization
  • Understanding of SEO-friendly development practices
  • Experience with WordPress security, backups, and website migrations

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
