About the Team

Platned’s Research and Innovation unit builds AI and non-AI products for IFS Cloud customers, working across Labs, Product, and Co-creation Projects with Customers. Our products span desktop applications, browser extensions, backend services, and AI-powered solutions. The team runs a product operating model: opportunities are discovered and validated before they’re built, and Product Leads are accountable for the outcome.

About the Role

This is a role for someone who thinks in terms of product outcomes, over feature delivery. You will work closely with customers, designers, engineers, and business stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery and validation to delivery and continuous improvement. You will use customer insights, product data, and market understanding to make informed decisions, shape product strategy, and ensure the team is building the right solutions for the right problems.

What you will do

  • Decide what’s worth building across your products. Validate value and viability directly with customers before committing build time, and own the call on what earns a place in delivery.
  • Own Product Direction and the Backlog once something’s validated, ensuring value increments follow the evidence, tracking whether the shipped product moves the intended outcome, and driving iteration when it does not.
  • Act as the team’s primary source of knowledge on customers, product usage data, business constraints, and the competitive market.
  • Work daily alongside a Design Lead and Engineering Lead to make product decisions together, you carry the value and viability side of that call.
  • Turn what customers ask for into problems worth solving, keeping the experience coherent across every platform they touch, and protect the product’s commercial health, pricing, trade-offs, and commitments.
  • Keep delivery on track against agreed milestones, using tools like Jira to sequence value increments, track progress, and manage risk with engineering and design leads.

Must-have skills

  • A proven track record owning product decisions end to end, from framing the problem through to shipped outcome.
  • Deep, current knowledge of your customers, product usage data, business constraints, and the competitive market, strong enough to be the team’s reference point on all four.
  • A track record of following through after launch, measuring whether shipped work moves the intended outcome, and iterating based on the evidence.
  • Program management instincts alongside product ownership: hands-on with tools like Jira, comfortable value and driving delivery against committed milestones, particularly valuable on products without a dedicated delivery role.
  • Comfortable working directly with customers to validate demand before committing engineering time.
  • Strong commercial judgement: pricing, cost to build and run, and the build, buy, or partner call.
  • Experience operating in a product model, comfortable with discovery, evidence-led decisions, and iterative delivery.
  • Confident making calls under ambiguity, backed by evidence.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence without authority, holding a product direction against pressure from stakeholders and delivery teams alike.

Nice to have

  • Experience with enterprise software or ERP, IFS Cloud exposure is a plus.
  • Background in AI-enabled products or AI-assisted ways of working.

Experience

5+ years in product/program management or a closely related field, with demonstrated senior-level ownership of product decisions.
