QA Engineer
Job Description
About Platned
Platned is a rapidly expanding Enterprise Services company headquartered in the UK with a growing global presence. We are business transformation specialists, helping organisations maximise their investment in the world-class IFS product suite through comprehensive implementation, consultancy, and managed services.
Role Overview
Our Research and Innovation unit builds software products for enterprise customers, spanning both AI-enabled and conventional solutions across diverse tech stacks. We are looking for a QA Engineer to grow with it. Quality here is not a phase at the end, it is embedded through the work, from discovery prototypes to production releases.
Our products often span desktop applications, browser extensions, and backend services, so validating data consistency, workflows, and integrations across platforms is part of the work.
This is a role for someone who thinks in terms of quality engineering, not just test execution. You will shape how products are tested, decide where automation earns its place, and work alongside engineers, designers, and product leads as software is being built, not after.
We are open to candidates at QA Engineer, Senior, and Lead levels. The scope of the role will reflect your experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Own test strategy and quality coverage for the products you work on
- Carry out hands-on manual and exploratory testing, bringing a user’s perspective to what ships
- Design and build automated testing across UI, API, and integration layers where it adds lasting value, and keep it maintained
- Embed quality checks into the delivery pipeline so issues surface early
- Use AI tools to accelerate test design, coverage analysis, and automation, while owning the judgement behind the output
- Raise quality risks early and work with the team to resolve them
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Solid grounding in testing fundamentals: test design, risk-based planning, and defect management
- Strong hands-on testing skills, with the judgement to know where manual testing adds value and where automation should take over
- Experience with modern automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar
- Experience testing APIs and working within CI/CD delivery flows
- Comfort working in Agile product teams and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical people
- Actively learning how AI is changing testing, and applying that learning to day-to-day quality work in the product life cycle
Nice To Have
- Experience testing AI-enabled products, such as validating LLM outputs, agent behaviour, or non-deterministic systems
- Use of AI assistants in your own testing workflow, for generating test cases, analysing failures, or building automation faster
- Performance, security, or accessibility testing exposure
- Experience with ERP, enterprise software, or SaaS products
- Experience with ERP, enterprise software, or SaaS products, including multi-user systems and role-based access controls
