Junior QA Engineer

Job Description

Avya Technologies is looking for a motivated Junior QA Engineer to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in software quality assurance while gaining hands-on experience working with real-world software projects, development teams and testing processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Review software requirements and understand expected system functionality.
• Prepare and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test checklists.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, UI, and usability testing.
• Test web and mobile applications across different devices and environments.
• Identify, document and report software defects clearly.
• Re-test resolved issues and perform regression testing after fixes.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and project teams to ensure product quality.
• Participate in requirement discussions and provide QA-related feedback.
• Maintain testing documentation and evidence.
• Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release validation.
• Track bugs and testing activities using project management or issue-tracking tools.
• Continuously improve testing knowledge, processes, and QA practices.

What We’re Looking For

• Undergraduate or recent graduate in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of software testing concepts and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Knowledge of test case preparation and bug reporting.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to understand system requirements and identify potential issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and testing techniques.
• Basic knowledge of API testing, database testing, or automation testing would be an added advantage.
