About the Opportunity:

On behalf of a leading IT firm based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Wisdom RecruitmentS is seeking an experienced and vision-driven Lead QA Automation Engineer. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role where you will own and elevate the quality engineering practice across web, mobile, and API platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Framework Development: Define, design, and implement overall QA automation architecture covering web UI, native/hybrid mobile, and API layers.
  • Process Definition: Own the end-to-end (E2E) testing strategy across the complete pyramid and natively integrate automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Engineering Leadership: Lead, mentor, and upskill QA engineers on advanced automation practices, framework usage, and shift-left testing principles.
  • Metrics & Analytics: Track and report key metrics (coverage, pass rates, flakiness indices, defect leakage) to executive stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10–12 years of software quality engineering experience, with a proven track record of architecting automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Strong coding proficiency in at least one primary automation language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#).
  • Hands-on mastery of modern enterprise tools: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress (Web); Appium (Mobile); REST Assured, Postman (API).
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD engines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), version control (Git), and Docker containers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Nice to have:Experience incorporating AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate test scripting and log analysis responsibly.
