Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a high-energy, ambitious Business Development Intern to join our growth team. This isn't a coffee-fetching internship; you will be on the front lines learning how to scale a marketplace, source leads, and pitch to real businesses. If you love a fast-paced environment and want to learn the art of modern sales from the ground up, this is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation: Research and identify potential new sellers to expand MO’s footprint in the e-commerce market.
  • Onboarding Support: Help guide new partners through the initial onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition onto the platform.
  • Market Intel: Conduct daily market research and competitor analysis to spot new trends and untapped seller categories.
  • CRM Hygiene: Maintain clean, meticulous records of leads and outreach metrics using our sales tools and CRM.
  • Team Collaboration: Shadow senior BD team members during negotiations to learn closing strategies and help meet monthly acquisition goals.

Requirements

  • Experience: Prior internship, leadership role in a student organization, or university sales competition experience is a strong plus (but passion beats experience here).
  • Skills: Excellent communication and "people skills" you aren't afraid to pick up the phone, ask questions, and talk to strangers.
  • Microsoft Proficiency: Well versed in MS tools such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Mindset: Highly self-motivated, resilient against rejection, and eager to thrive in a high-speed startup environment.
  • Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
