Microsoft Purview Expert – Microsoft Fabric Experience

AIT Services Australia is seeking a Microsoft Purview Expert with hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience to support our client projects.

This is a flexible, project-based engagement, with work assigned as required. Hours will vary depending on project needs, with scope, availability and rates agreed before each assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure Microsoft Purview for data discovery, cataloguing, classification and lineage.
• Integrate supported Azure and Microsoft Fabric data sources.
• Establish business glossaries, data ownership and governance practices.
• Support Fabric Lakehouses, Warehouses, OneLake, data pipelines and Power BI.
• Review access controls and data security requirements.
• Troubleshoot scanning, metadata, lineage and integration issues.
• Provide technical guidance and documentation.

Required Experience

• Proven implementation experience with Microsoft Purview.
• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience.
• Strong understanding of metadata, data lineage, classification and governance.
• Experience with Azure data services, SQL and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders.

Experience with Power BI governance, Python, PySpark, PowerShell or REST APIs would be advantageous.
