Senior Quality Engineer

Job Description

Ucombinator builds software for leading companies across the USA and Europe, and provides engineering talent to Sri Lanka’s top technology firms. Our teams work across a range of business domains including artificial intelligence, supply chain, finance, industrial automation, and e-commerce. We’re expanding our development team and looking for engineers who want to work on systems that operate at real scale.

The Role: 

• Create and enhance test cases and execute them with limited supervision
• Produce test artifacts — test strategy, test plans, test cases, and test metrics reports
• Review functional and non-functional requirements and specifications
• Give constructive feedback on test cases and plans written by junior team members
• Debug and troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and log defects with enough detail to act on
• Work closely with development teams to shake out bugs early
• Build and establish the overall quality engineering process

Requirements:

• A degree in Computer Science, IT, or an equivalent qualification
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing
• Experience in test planning, test design, and functionality testing
• Expert knowledge of quality engineering methodologies, automated testing tools (Selenium/Appium), and continuous integration systems
• Experience with QE tools such as QMetry, HP ALM, JIRA, and Confluence
• Strong knowledge of Java, OOP concepts, and coding standards
• Skilled at evaluating existing processes and recommending improvements, and at designing proofs of concept that fit business needs
• A solid practical understanding of Agile software testing and software engineering concepts
• Effective written and verbal communication, with strong prioritization and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently while keeping good relationships across the team
