DEVOPS / CLOUD ENGINEER

Remote — Sri Lanka

Build the infrastructure backbone that lets 10 engineers ship deployable code every single sprint — from Day 1 to December 2027.

THE ROLE

FireCORE is a next-generation AI powered SaaS platform built by Fire Dynamics International. As DevOps / Cloud Engineer, you will be at the heart of this mission.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Set up the AWS environment, networking, and security architecture in Sprint 0 — before a line of product code is written
  • Build and own the CI/CD pipeline: automated testing, build, deploy across all environments
  • Implement infrastructure as code (Terraform or CDK) for all AWS resources
  • Configure monitoring, alerting, and log aggregation (CloudWatch, Datadog, or equivalent)
  • Manage multi-environment strategy: dev, staging, production with automated promotion
  • Ensure security best practices: IAM roles, secrets management, VPC configuration
  • Support AI/ML infrastructure in Phase 2: model training pipelines, GPU instance management, model serving
  • Implement database backup, disaster recovery, and RTO/RPO targets for enterprise clients
  • Manage SSL/TLS, domain configuration, and CDN for global performance
  • Maintain 99.9% uptime SLAs as the platform onboards paying enterprise clients from November 2026

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 4+ years of DevOps or cloud engineering experience
  • Deep AWS expertise: EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, EKS or ECS, CloudFront, Route53
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform or AWS CDK
  • Proficiency with Docker and container orchestration
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI)
  • Strong security fundamentals: IAM, VPC, secrets management, compliance
  • Experience with monitoring and observability stacks
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment with frequent releases

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with ML infrastructure: SageMaker, GPU instances, model serving
  • Kubernetes (EKS) experience at production scale
  • ISO 27001 implementation experience (Phase 4 deliverable)
  • Multi-region AWS deployment experience
  • Experience supporting IoT data ingestion at scale
