Department of Data Science - Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering
KIU University is seeking a motivated and passionate Assistant Lecturer or Lecturer to join the Department of Data Science within the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring academics who are enthusiastic about teaching, research, innovation, and preparing graduates for the rapidly evolving fields of data science, data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and practical classes in Data Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and related disciplines.
- Prepare teaching materials, laboratory manuals, presentations, practical exercises, and digital learning resources.
- Guide and mentor students and supervise undergraduate data science projects
and research activities. - Assist with examinations, assessments, moderation, and academic record management.
- Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, accreditation, and programme improvement.
- Participate in research, publications, conferences, workshops, and industry/academic collaborations.
- Support departmental administration, student recruitment, orientation, outreach, workshops, and faculty activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
- A specialization in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related area will be an advantage.
- A Master's Degree or current enrolment in a PhD programme will be a distinct advantage.
- Sound knowledge of data science, statistics, data analysis, machine learning, programming, databases, and data visualization.
- Familiarity with Python, R, SQL, Jupyter Notebook, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous teaching, laboratory, research, or industry experience will be an added advantage.
