Senior Software Developer (Project Basis)

Overview

We are looking for a proactive, technically strong, and results-oriented Senior Software Developer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will take ownership of developing, improving, and delivering high-quality software products rather than focusing solely on completing assigned tasks. You will work closely with Project Managers, UI/UX designers, other developers, and relevant stakeholders to understand requirements, solve complex technical problems, improve development processes, and deliver reliable software that creates real value for clients and end users.

The role also requires an AI-enabled approach to software development, with a strong interest in using AI tools and technologies to improve development speed, problem-solving, code quality, testing, and overall engineering efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain high-quality software applications and features.
• Translate project and business requirements into practical technical solutions and actionable development tasks.
• Take ownership of assigned features, technical problems, and development outcomes from understanding requirements through delivery.
• Develop maintainable, scalable, secure, and efficient software following appropriate engineering practices and standards.
• Analyze complex technical problems, identify root causes, and develop practical and sustainable solutions.
• Work closely with Project Managers to provide technical input on requirements, estimates, technical risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to understand designs, identify technical constraints, and ensure effective implementation of user experiences.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to improve code quality and development practices.
• Develop and maintain appropriate automated tests and ensure software is thoroughly tested before delivery.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve bugs, performance issues, integration problems, and production issues.
• Contribute to technical documentation, development standards, architecture decisions, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Identify opportunities to improve development workflows, reduce unnecessary effort, and increase engineering efficiency.
• Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and approaches that can improve software development and product delivery.
• Effectively use AI-assisted development tools for activities such as coding, debugging, testing, refactoring, research, documentation, and technical problem-solving.
• Critically review and validate AI-generated code and recommendations rather than relying on AI output without technical judgment.
• Explore practical ways to integrate AI into development workflows to improve delivery speed, quality, and developer productivity.
• Proactively identify technical risks, blockers, dependencies, and potential delivery issues and communicate them early.
• Take responsibility for the quality, reliability, and maintainability of the software you deliver.

Requirements

• Proven experience in software development, preferably in a professional software development or technology environment.
• Strong programming and software engineering fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of software development practices, including version control, testing, debugging, code review, and software design.
• Experience working with APIs, databases, integrations, and modern software development tools and frameworks.
• Good understanding of writing maintainable, scalable, secure, and efficient code.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to investigate technical problems and develop practical solutions.
• Ability to independently break down complex requirements and problems into manageable technical tasks.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and technical design appropriate to the projects being developed.
• Ability to estimate technical work, identify dependencies, and communicate technical risks and constraints clearly.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Project Managers, UI/UX designers, developers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and commitment to delivering high-quality software.
• Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and take responsibility for technical outcomes.
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and work effectively in a fast-paced software development environment.
• Experience reviewing code and providing constructive technical feedback to other developers.
• Ability and willingness to mentor junior and associate developers.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as AI coding assistants or similar technologies.
• Ability to evaluate, test, and validate AI-generated code and technical recommendations.
• A continuous-learning mindset and interest in emerging technologies, particularly AI and its practical application to software development.

Preferred / Advantageous

• Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into software products or development workflows.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Experience working directly with clients or contributing to technical discussions with clients.
