Senior Software Architect - Energy Intelligence Platform

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Architect to lead the architecture and technical direction of a mature Energy Intelligence and IoT platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the technical vision, ensuring platform stability, scalability, security, and performance, while leading the modernization of legacy applications and evolving the platform's cloud-native architecture. This role requires close collaboration with Product Owners, development teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions and provide technical leadership across the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the overall technical architecture for the platform, including front-end, back end, integrations, data models, and non-functional requirements.
  • Design and evolve microservices architecture and AWS serverless solutions while integrating with existing Laravel and AngularJS applications.
  • Define and execute a phased modernization strategy for legacy systems, including migration from AngularJS to modern technologies.
  • Own API architecture, system integrations, AWS deployment architecture, and CI/CD processes.
  • Establish engineering standards, secure coding practices, code reviews, automated testing, and software quality guidelines.
  • Review technical designs and code to ensure scalability, maintainability, performance, and security.
  • Lead and mentor senior developers by providing architectural guidance and technical leadership.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to define technical roadmaps, delivery plans, and effort estimations.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks while ensuring the security and protection of customer and platform data.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across software architecture, engineering processes, and platform modernization.

Core Competencies Required

  • Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including proven experience as a Software Architect or Technical Lead supporting production SaaS platforms.
  • Must be willing to work at office for a contract basis role. (06 Month 01 Year Renewable Contract)
  • Strong hands-on experience with PHP, Laravel, AngularJS (Angular 1.x), Node.js, and/or Python.
  • Strong experience designing scalable application architecture, distributed systems, and microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, including Lambda, serverless architectures, and cloud-native application development.
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, system integrations, and endto-end application architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, secure software development practices, and DevSecOps principles.
  • Experience maintaining, refactoring, and modernizing legacy enterprise applications.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, application security, scalability, high availability, and performance optimization.
  • Experience working with IoT platforms, energy or utility systems, time-series data, regulated environments, or data-sensitive applications.
  • Familiarity with jQuery and MySQL.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineering teams and drive technical excellence across complex software projects.
