Senior Software Engineer

Join Surecore and work closely with our IOS Architect and cross-functional teams to design, build and deliver scalable, secure and intelligent solutions on
our enterprise insurance platform.

Help us power the next generation of the Insurance Operating System (IOS). 

You will follow a business concept from its source data and database model through Python services and JSON APIs to the user interface-understanding the business meaning of data and delivering value at every layer.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable backand services, APIs and business logic in Python.
  • Work with FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy and Alembic to build robust applications.
  • Design and optimize data models, queries and database performance.
  • Investigate complex issues across data, business logic, APIs, Ul and infrastructure layers.
  • Lead and build integrations with Snowflake and other external systems.
  • Create automated tests and ensure high code quality through reviews and best practices.
  • Support UAT, releases and production troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to React and TypeScript components when required.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with the IOS Architect and product teams.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on backend.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and production systems.
  • Proficiency in REST APIs, JSON and OpenAPI.
  • Expertise in SQL and relational databases (eg, PostgreSQL).
  • Strong experience with SQLAlchemy and Alembic (migrations).
  • Solid understanding of layered architecture, domain modelling and separation of responsibilities.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience with Pytest or other automated testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Git, Docker and CVCD pipelines.
  • Experience with AWS, Snowflake, Keycloak, Java/Spring Boot or financial/insurance systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
