About the Role

We are looking for a Web Developer – Associate to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience with WordPress and modern website development, while also being comfortable working with other web technologies.

WordPress will be a major part of this role, including developing, customizing, maintaining, and optimizing WordPress websites. However, we are looking for someone who is interested in broader web development rather than being limited to WordPress alone.

You will work closely with designers, developers, project managers, and clients to build high-quality, responsive, secure, and performance-focused web solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites
  • Build custom WordPress themes, templates, and functionality
  • Customize and integrate WordPress plugins
  • Work with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL
  • Develop responsive websites that work across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
  • Integrate third-party APIs and external services
  • Troubleshoot website issues and resolve bugs
  • Optimize websites for performance, security, and scalability
  • Implement SEO-friendly technical structures and best practices
  • Manage WordPress updates, backups, migrations, and deployments
  • Work with hosting environments, domains, SSL, DNS, and basic server configurations
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to accurately implement designs
  • Work with Git and follow proper version-control practices
  • Assist with development of websites and web applications using other technologies when required
  • Participate in testing, debugging, code reviews, and quality assurance
  • Communicate effectively with the internal team and clients when required

Requirements

  • Diploma, degree, or equivalent practical experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in web development
  • Strong hands-on experience with WordPress
  • Experience with WordPress themes and plugins
  • Understanding of responsive web design
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub
  • Basic understanding of website hosting and deployment
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Good attention to detail and willingness to learn new technologies
