Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Lead to oversee and coordinate comprehensive testing activities within our software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in test automation, performance testing, and quality assurance processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role involves leading testing teams, developing test strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless release management and continuous integration practices. The Senior Test Lead will play a pivotal role in driving improvements in testing methodologies, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting DevOps initiatives across diverse platforms including web, mobile, and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of manual and automated test cases across various projects, ensuring coverage of functional, system, user acceptance, and performance testing.
  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, and Jenkins to enhance testing efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements gathering, SDLC processes, and system architecture including APIs, RESTful services, SOAP web services, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Conduct root cause analysis on defects identified during testing phases; work closely with developers to troubleshoot issues related to C#, Java, Python, SQL databases (MySQL, Oracle), and other technologies.
  • Implement continuous integration pipelines leveraging tools like Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps (TFS), and Ant to streamline build and deployment processes.
  • Perform load testing using LoadRunner or similar tools; evaluate system performance metrics to ensure scalability and stability under varying loads.
  • Manage user acceptance testing (UAT), functional testing, regression testing, system testing, and release management activities.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test scripts, defect reports using tools such as Jira or HP ALM; ensure traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support technical support teams by providing detailed analysis of issues; contribute to process improvements in QA methodologies aligned with industry standards such as ISO 9001 or CMMI.
  • Mentor junior team members; promote best practices in software quality assurance and test automation within the organisation.

Skills

  • Proven expertise in Selenium WebDriver automation framework development; experience with TestNG, Cucumber (BDD), JUnit for Java-based projects; similar skills in C#,.NET frameworks; familiarity with Python scripting for automation tasks.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC models including Waterfall and Agile methodologies; experience with requirements gathering and translating business needs into effective test cases.
  • In-depth knowledge of APIs (REST & SOAP), web services integration (XML/JSON), JDBC/ODBC connections; proficiency in SQL databases such as MySQL, Oracle SQL Server; ability to perform data analysis skills for troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines; version control systems including GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket; build tools such as Maven or Ant.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools like LoadRunner; understanding of system architecture involving Linux/Windows operating systems; experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with strong problem-solving capabilities; ability to perform root cause analysis effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of UI technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript frameworks (Node.js), MVC architecture; experience with mobile platforms like Android & iOS is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement; ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
