Associate Technical Lead - IBM CP4BA Development & Integration

Job Description

Are you a hands-on technical leader who specializes in enterprise automation, workflow engineering, and complex systems integration? We are seeking an Associate Technical Lead - IBM CP4BA Development & Integration to lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of business automation solutions on the IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA) platform deployed on Red Hat OpenShift across 5 high-availability environments (Dev, UAT, Pre-Prod, Prod, and DR).

In this hands-on technical role, you will bridge business requirements with scalable engineering as translating process specifications into robust workflows, REST/SOAP APIs, micro services, and enterprise-grade integration patterns. You will guide and mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and drive critical development for core components across the IBM automation suite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership & Architecture: Lead end-to-end delivery of CP4BA applications, setting non-functional requirements for security, scalability, performance, and recoverability.
  • Conduct code reviews, establish engineering standards, and mentor development teams.
  • IBM BAW Workflow Development: Lead the design and development of complex enterprise workflows, business processes, Coaches/Coach Views, reusable toolkits, service tasks, and exception-handling patterns in IBM BAW.
  • Enterprise Integration & API Engineering: Design and build secure REST/SOAP APIs, microservices, and integration services using Java and Spring Boot. Integrate CP4BA with core banking systems, HRIS, Active Directory, Google Workspace, IBM AS400/RPG, and DB2 databases.
  • Multi-Component Stack Engineering:
    • Content & Decisions: Integrate solutions with IBM FileNet ECM and externalize business logic via ODM/ADS.
    • Document Processing & RPA: Connect workflows with IBM Datacap/Intelligent
    • Document Processing and IBM RPA/ Automation Anywhere bots.
    • Driven & Analytics: Implement event-driven integration patterns (Apache Kafka) and instrument process event streams for IBM Business Automation Insights (BAI).
    • Database & DevOps Collaboration: Design transactional DB2 schemas and SQL queries.
  • Work with OpenShift and platform ops teams on containerized deployments, secrets, ConfigMaps, routes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related discipline (a Master's degree is a strong advantage).
  • Workflow & Automation Mastery: Deep hands-on development expertise in IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) and experience delivering solutions on IBM CP4BA in containerized (Red Hat OpenShift) environments.
  • Backend Engineering & Web Tech: Strong Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SOAP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS capabilities.
  • Database Design: Solid knowledge of IBM DB2, SQL, relational database design, indexing, and transactional integrity.
  • Container & DevOps Concepts: Practical exposure to OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, source control, and CI/CD pipeline automation.
  • Technical Ownership: Demonstrated experience performing code reviews, leading complex integration troubleshooting,

Preferred skills:

  • Event-driven architecture with Apache Kafka.
  • Hands-on development experience with FileNet, ODM/ADS, Datacap, BAI, or RPA technologies.
  • Integration experience with IBM AS400/RPG, DB2 iSeries, or AWS cloud services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3).
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM), Active Directory, and Google Workspace integration.
  • Relevant certifications in IBM Automation Red Hat OpenShift, (BAW/CP4BA/FileNet/ODM), Java/Spring, or Integration Architecture.
