Database Administrator

Job Description

About the Role

You will be responsible for administering, securing and optimizing our relational and NoSQL databases to ensure high availability, performance and reliability. You'll work closely with Development, DevOps, Infrastructure and Security teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor production & non-production relational and NoSQL databases
• Ensure performance, availability, security and reliability
• Manage backup, recovery, replication and disaster recovery
• Perform database tuning and optimization
• Execute upgrades, migrations and maintenance
• Manage users, roles, permissions and database security
• Support incidents and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
• 3-5 years of database administration experience
• Experience with production databases (Amazon RDS)
• Strong knowledge of database architecture, transactions, indexing and concurrency Experience with backup, recovery, replication and failover
• Good knowledge of Linux environments Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork

Technology Experience

• Experience with two or more of the following:
  MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB

Nice to Have

• Experience with automation and scripting
• Monitoring tools and alerting experience
