Network & Structured Cabling Engineer

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

Join Our Network Team 

Cyrus Information Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. is looking for a skilled and motivated Network & Structured Cabling Engineer to join our engineering team. 

The ideal candidate should have hands on experience in structured cabling installations, fibre optic infrastructure, network rack installations and enterprise LAN infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structured network cabling installations for commercial and enterprise environments.
• Install, terminate and test Cat6 / Cat6A network cables.
• Perform fibre optic cable installation, termination and testing.
• Install and configure network racks, patch panels, cable managers and network outlets.
• Perform cable dressing, labelling, routing and cable management.
• Install and maintain LAN infrastructure, including switches and network connectivity.
• Support CCTV, Wi-Fi access point and access control cabling projects.
• Conduct cable testing, fault identification and troubleshooting.
• Read technical drawings, floor plans and cabling layouts.
• Perform on-site installations, maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.
• Maintain installation documentation and project handover reports.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in network cabling or structured cabling installations.
• Practical experience with Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6A cabling.
• Knowledge of fibre optic cabling and termination will be an advantage.
• Experience with patch panels, network racks, cable management and termination tools.
• Basic understanding of LAN, Ethernet, switches and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to use cable testers and network testing equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work on installation projects.

Preferred Certifications

• Degree, or Diploma in IT, Networking, or a related field.
• Good knowledge of network cabling and Wireless technologies.
• Structured Cabling Manufacturer / Vendor certifications will be an advantage.
• Networking certifications such as Cisco CCNA will be an advantage.
