- Interactive features in JavaScript, such as a product configurator, a live logo preview and filters
- Accessibility and page speed
Back end
- Custom WordPress plugins in PHP 8: pricing rules, file uploads, REST API endpoints and scheduled tasks
- Setting up and customising WooCommerce: products and variations, order stages and emails, payments (Stripe and PayPal), discount codes, reviews, shipment tracking and Xero

Product data - Importing, cleaning and mapping supplier data from CSV and Excel files, and from APIs
- Working with a product information system (Akeneo PIM) and WP All Import
Servers and deployment - Linux servers and managed WordPress hosting, Cloudflare, backups, cron jobs and SFTP
- Moving work from test to live safely, with Git and GitHub
Quality and security
- Automated tests, and testing on real devices before launch
- Secure coding throughout: OWASP Top 10, safe file uploads, no passwords or keys in code
- Clear documentation of what you build
Must-haves
- At least 4+ years' commercial experience building WordPress and WooCommerce sites, including custom themes and plugins
- Strong PHP 8 and JavaScript, and solid HTML and CSS
- Experience importing product data from CSV or Excel files
- Comfortable on a Linux server (SSH, cron, logs) and with Git and GitHub
- Secure coding habits
- You manage your own time well and deliver to deadlines
- Clear written English, and regular, reliable progress updates
Nice to have
- Akeneo PIM, WP All Import or Elasticsearch
- Python for data processing
- Stripe, PayPal or Xero integrations
- Playwright or PHPUnit
- Cloudflare, and managed hosting such as Cloudways or DigitalOcean
- Experience on UK e-commerce projects, and an eye for design detail

- Paid in GBP or LKR
