Job Seeker FAQ – ITPro.lk

1. Do I need to create an account?

No, you don’t need to create an account. You can apply directly by filling out the job application form on the job page. If the recruiter has set an external application URL, you will be redirected to that page and must follow the application procedure there.

2. Are job ads on ITPro.lk verified?

Yes, all job ads on ITPro.lk are verified. Every new job post is reviewed and approved through our internal verification process before going live.

3. How do I know if my application was received?

Applications submitted via our platform are sent directly to the recruiter’s email, and your application is successfully recorded in the recruiter’s ATS (Applicant Tracking System), where the recruiter can access it at any time. Recruiters can also change their email notification preferences.

If you apply through an external application URL, your application is handled directly by the recruiter or their external system. ITPro.lk does not track applications submitted through external URLs.

If you choose to receive a copy of your application, this is provided for your own reference and confirms that your application was successfully submitted. Keep in mind that receiving a copy does not mean that the recruiter has opened, viewed, or reviewed your application.

Companies have their own ways of communicating with applicants. Depending on their recruitment process, they may contact you by email, phone, or through their own recruitment system about the progress or outcome of your application. So, if you don’t hear back immediately, it doesn’t necessarily mean your application wasn’t received.

4. How can I follow up on my job application?

If you’d like to follow up on your application, the best approach is to contact the company directly. Each company has its own recruitment process and preferred way of communicating with candidates.

Some job advertisements include an employer email address in the job description. If one is provided, you can use it to politely ask about the status of your application. Keep in mind that companies may receive a large number of applications and may not always be able to respond to individual enquiries.

Many job advertisements also include the company’s website. Visiting the company’s website can help you find their contact information and, where available, their LinkedIn page or other information about the organisation and its staff. This may help you identify the most appropriate person or channel to contact.

Note: if you receive a copy of your application by email from ITPro.lk, replying to that email will send your message to ITPro.lk, not directly to the hiring company. To contact the company, use the contact details provided in the job advertisement or the company’s official contact channels.

5. Can I get alerts for specific job roles or locations?

Yes! You can subscribe to receive alerts for specific categories, locations, or companies directly on the respective listing page. To receive alerts for specific job roles or keywords, follow the link sent via email when subscribing. On that page, you can also set keywords for more precise notifications.

6. How can I report fake or scam job posts?

If you notice a suspicious or fake job post, use the Report option available on the job post page. If the job post violates ITPro.lk’s terms and conditions, we will take action to remove it.

7. Who can I contact if I face technical issues?

You can reach us via the contact us page or directly email us at info@itpro.lk.
