QA Engineer

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, an IT-related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.
  • ISTQB examination (certification or completed examination).

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Selenium, automated testing frameworks, test case design, and defect management.
  • Understanding of performance and load testing, test automation framework design, Agile/SCRUM methodologies, SDLC, API testing, and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with AxelQ or similar low-code/codeless automation platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database testing.
  • Exposure to Out Systems is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding Project Requirements
    Analyze business and technical requirements to identify testing needs and ensure software quality.
  • Test Planning and Strategy
    Develop and execute test plans, test strategies, and testing schedules based on project requirements.
  • Test Case Development
    Design, review, and maintain comprehensive test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
  • Manual Testing
    Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and exploratory testing to identify software defects.
  • Automation Testing
    Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Defect Management
    Identify, document, prioritize, track, and verify defects, collaborating with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Quality Assurance Processes
    Implement and maintain QA standards, testing methodologies, and best practices to ensure software reliability and quality.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    Work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to resolve quality issues and support successful project delivery.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support
    Coordinate and support UAT activities, validate business requirements, and assist stakeholders in verifying system functionality.
  • Test Reporting and Documentation
    Prepare test execution reports, defect summaries, and quality metrics to communicate testing progress and outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement
    Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, automation coverage, and overall software quality.
  • Learning and Development
    Stay updated on emerging testing tools, technologies, and industry best practices to enhance QA capabilities.
