Accounts Associate

Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Associate to support our finance and accounting operations in Sri Lanka. The ideal candidate should have basic hands-on experience in accounting and a strong willingness to learn and grow within a professional finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day accounting and finance activities.
• Record invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform basic bank, customer, and vendor reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and schedules.
• Track outstanding receivables and payables.
• Support invoice verification and payment processing.
• Assist with expense recording and petty cash management.
• Support the Finance Manager/Senior Accountant with reporting and accounting tasks.
• Assist with audit, tax, and statutory documentation when required.
• Ensure accounting records are maintained accurately and on time.

Requirements

• 6 months–1 year of relevant accounting/finance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
• Basic to intermediate MS Excel skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, Oracle, or other accounting software is an advantage.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
