Embedded Hardware Engineer

Job Description

Job Summary

The role involves PCB design including high-speed layout, power supplies, rigid flex board designing and design migration/maintenance for boards used in communication platforms, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Port, modify, and maintain multi-layer PCB designs across EDA tools, including schematic/layout migration, component library synchronization, and verification of Gerber files and BOMs against production standards.
  • Design rigid and rigid-flex PCB interconnects between subsystem boards.
    Integrate high-speed interfaces (Ethernet PHY, USB PHY, etc.) into schematics and layouts; route high-speed signal paths between FPGA/SoC platforms (e.g., Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+), VITA 46 · connectors, and supporting ICs. 
  • Perform component-level design modifications and maintain accurate block diagrams and documentation as designs evolve; generate and release production files.
  • Design multi-layer high-speed adapter PCBs, integrating connector types such as VITA 46, SFP, SMA, and Ethernet, along with power distribution networks (switching supplies, noise filtering).
  • Create and maintain component/part libraries, develop block diagrams, and produce technical documentation to support ongoing hardware development.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer.
  • Experience with high-speed design, signal integrity, and multi-layer PCB stack-ups (rigid and rigid-flex) will be a plus.
  • Understanding of power distributions, including switching power supplies and noise filtering will be a plus.
  • Strong documentation discipline - BOM management, Gerber verification, block diagrams, production file generation.
