Software Quality Engineer - Performance

Job Description

Core Responsibilities & Duties

• Work with Product QA and Development teams to design and script performance test scenarios based on the requirement specifications.
• Participate in regular team stand-ups, updates, weekly product platform and agile sessions when required.
• Involve in training platform Quality Engineers and junior Performance Engineers in Software Performance Testing.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
• 2+ years of industry experience in Software Performance Testing using JMeter/Gatling or any other standard performance testing.
• Solid practical understanding of Agile Software Quality Assurance.
• Strong understanding of Performance testing concepts and practical applicability of those concepts in Software development.
• Knowledge in performance scripting and load testing using JMeter.
• Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, web technologies, APIs and microservices.
• Programming skills in JavaScript or Groovy would be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests with Jenkins would be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of manual testing concepts, test case design techniques, and defect lifecycle.
• Familiarity in issue management tools such as JIRA and Devops.
• Able to collaboratively work with a team.
• Able to communicate technical and analytical content with relevant stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• ISTQB Performance Testing certification or equivalent would be an added advantage
• Desire to stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, technologies, and industry best practices in the domain of performance testing.
