Job Description
Pembroke Investments (Pvt) Ltdis seeking a versatile, highly organised Finance, Compliance & HR Lead to oversee the administrative and financial backbone of our Sri Lankan operations.
Based in the coastal hub of Ahangama, this role is unique in its scope, supporting both our boutique hotel, Tekanda Lodge, and our dedicated charity, the Tekanda Foundation. While the hotel focuses on curated Sri Lankan hospitality, the Foundation is committed to social impact—empowering local women through skill development, providing supplementary education for children, and pioneering grassroots cricket programs for girls.
The Role
You will be responsible for ensuring financial transparency and operational compliance across both our commercial and charitable entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end accounts in collaboration with external auditors.
- Tax & Compliance: Management of VAT controls and ensuring all statutory filings are accurate and timely.
- Human Resources: Handling staff payroll, drafting employment contracts, and managing general HR requirements for a diverse team.
- Regulatory Liaison: Managing relationships and processes with industry bodies, including the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a professional who combines technical financial rigour with the empathy required to work within a charitable framework.
- Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management. (Professional part-qualification (or full qualification) in CIMA, ACCA, or CA Sri Lankais an added advantage.)
- Experience:2–5 years of experience in finance and administration. (Direct experience within the Hotel and Tourism sector is a significant advantage.)
- Skills: Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan labour laws, VAT regulations, and accounting software.
- Flexibility: While based in Ahangama, we may entertain remote working arrangements for the right candidate.
