Senior QA Engineer (Manual & Automation)

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to lead quality assurance efforts and ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality fintech solutions. The role involves establishing QA processes, developing automation frameworks, and performing both manual and automated testing across complex financial systems. The candidate will collaborate closely with cross- functional teams, support CI/CD-based testing, manage defect processes, and mentor junior QA engineers to maintain strong quality standards across all software releases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and implement the complete QA process from the ground up, including defining standards, workflows, test strategies, and quality gates for both manual and automated testing.
• Design and build the automation framework from the beginning, selecting the right tools, structuring the architecture, and ensuring scalability for long term use.
• Lead and execute comprehensive manual testing, functional, integration, regression, including exploratory, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Create detailed test scenarios, test cases, and traceability matrices aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Conduct manual validation of complex fintech workflows, financial rules, pricing logic, and transaction processing.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, backend, and ETL components using tools such as Selenium, Rest Assured, and JMeter.
• Optimize and continuously improve automation coverage to support CI/CD based continuous testing.
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers to uplift manual and automation skill levels.
• Collaborate closely with Developers, BAs, DevOps, and Product teams to ensure high-quality, secure, and stable fintech software releases.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 3-4+ years of hands-on QA experience, with strong capability in manual testing as well as automation.
• Proven expertise in designing and executing manual test scenarios, functional testing, integration testing, regression suites, and user acceptance testing.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Rest Assured, JMeter, and experience developing automation frameworks.
• Understanding of Agile Testing, QA documentation, defect life cycle, and CI/CD concepts.
• Experience in performance/security testing; exposure to tools like Veracode is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to test complex fintech workflows and mission-critical systems.
• Define QA metrics, reporting structures, and quality documentation standards for the division.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Lead defect triage, effort estimation, test planning, and risk-based testing strategies.
• Certifications such as ISTQB-CTFL are a plus.
