Associate Software Engineer - Business Automation

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Associate Software Engineer - Business Automation to support the development and implementation of automation solutions within a banking environment. This role provides hands-on exposure to workflow automation, system integrations, and modern development technologies while working under the guidance of senior engineers.

This position is ideal for early-career professionals looking to build expertise in enterprise automation and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and developing business process workflows and automation solutions.
  • Support identification of automation opportunities in collaboration with Operations and BPR teams.
  • Contribute to building workflow components, integration logic, and user interfaces under supervision.
  • Assist in integrating automation solutions with external systems using REST or SOAP web services.
  • Participate in testing, debugging, and deployment of automation solutions.
  • Support performance optimization and issue resolution activities.
  • Ensure compliance with security and coding standards.
  • Maintain documentation for workflows, configurations, and technical specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver automation projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in software development (internship/project experience acceptable).
  • Basic knowledge of Java or .NET development.
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Awareness of REST/SOAP APIs and system integration concepts.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred:

  • Exposure to workflow automation platforms (e.g., IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation or similar tools).
  • Basic understanding of OCR, content management systems, or decision engines.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Interest or exposure to banking or financial services domain.
