Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Associate Software Engineer - Business Automation to support the development and implementation of automation solutions within a banking environment. This role provides hands-on exposure to workflow automation, system integrations, and modern development technologies while working under the guidance of senior engineers.
This position is ideal for early-career professionals looking to build expertise in enterprise automation and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and developing business process workflows and automation solutions.
- Support identification of automation opportunities in collaboration with Operations and BPR teams.
- Contribute to building workflow components, integration logic, and user interfaces under supervision.
- Assist in integrating automation solutions with external systems using REST or SOAP web services.
- Participate in testing, debugging, and deployment of automation solutions.
- Support performance optimization and issue resolution activities.
- Ensure compliance with security and coding standards.
- Maintain documentation for workflows, configurations, and technical specifications.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver automation projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in software development (internship/project experience acceptable).
- Basic knowledge of Java or .NET development.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Awareness of REST/SOAP APIs and system integration concepts.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred:
- Exposure to workflow automation platforms (e.g., IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation or similar tools).
- Basic understanding of OCR, content management systems, or decision engines.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Interest or exposure to banking or financial services domain.
