Project Manager (Banking and Finance Domain)

The Project Manager is responsible for delivering technology and business transformation initiatives across banking and financial services functions. The role manages project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and compliance requirements while ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of IT, digital, and business transformation projects within scope, cost, and time.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, documentation, and progress dashboards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (IT, Operations, Risk, Finance, Digital, CX) and external vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with CBSL guidelines, internal governance, ISMS, audit standards, and quality checkpoints.
  • Manage project risks, maintain risk registers, and ensure timely issue escalation.
  • Track vendor deliverables, SLAs, and integration activities.
  • Oversee project closure, post-implementation reviews, and smooth handover to BAU teams.

  • Strong planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, risk management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid methodologies.
  • Ability to work under pressure white managing multiple priorities.

Qualification & Experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, IS, Project Management, or related fields.
  • 7+ years' experience managing IT, digital transformation, fintech, or banking process improvement projects.
  • Hands-on experience leading cross-functional teams, vendors, and solution integrators.
  • Exposure to Agile environments and banking systems (digital banking, core banking, payments, cards, lending, onboarding) is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in transformation projects is highly preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or AgilePM (added advantage).
  • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Trello, Asana, and process modelling tools (Visio, Figma, Draw.io).
  • Strong command of English and professional documentation skills.
