Associate System Support Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support to users.
- Assist in monitoring system performance and network operations to detect and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Diagnose and resolve problems, including user access, system errors, and connectivity issues.
- Respond to tickets raised by users through the help desk system, ensuring timely issue resolution and proper escalation when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and support requests.
- Provide guidance to end users on software applications, system updates, and general IT best practices.
- Assist in deploying patches and updates for software, operating systems, and security tools.
- Work closely with senior engineers and IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Find out the type of issues that are persistent and undertake analysis with a view of finding permanent remedies for them.
- Always work close to your customers; always ensure that you convey the message clearly, are polite and solve problems quickly.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing high-quality support.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or technical support roles.
- Exposure to common operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix).
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g. Jira) is a plus.
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex technical issues in OS, software, networking, or system environments.
- Experience with databases (SQL, MySQL, Oracle).
