Specialist Programmer – UniVerse / PICL

We are looking for an experienced Specialist Programmer with strong UniVerse / PICL expertise to support the development, maintenance, enhancement, and modernization of legacy enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with UniVerse MultiValue databases, PICK/PICL-based programming environments, and legacy business applications. You will be responsible for troubleshooting existing systems, implementing enhancements, optimizing application performance, and supporting integrations with modern technologies where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications built on UniVerse/PICL.
• Analyze and troubleshoot existing legacy applications.
• Develop and optimize UniVerse database queries and programs.
• Perform bug fixes, system enhancements, and performance improvements.
• Work with existing codebases and understand legacy business logic.
• Support system integrations with modern applications and APIs.
• Assist with migration or modernization initiatives where required.
• Document technical changes and system functionality.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.

Requirements

• Proven commercial experience with UniVerse / PICK / PICL technologies.
• Strong understanding of MultiValue database concepts.
• Experience working with legacy enterprise applications.
• Strong programming and debugging skills.
• Ability to analyze and maintain existing codebases.
• Experience with system integration and APIs is an advantage.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Experience Level: Mid-Level to Senior / Specialist
