Senior Front-End (Ecommerce) Developer

IPD is a public listed company specialized in providing electrical engineering products and solutions to the Australian market for over 65 years. The IPD Colombo team is the offshore unit of IPD Australia and currently consists of over 200 professionals collaborating with over 400 team members across Australia in a dynamic and innovative environment to achieve high-quality results.

We are seeking a seasoned Front-End Developer with strong UI/UX design, leadership, collaborative and communication skills to manage our digital marketing development workflow and mentor our established team of web developers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a backlog of feature requests and collaborate with the Head of Digital Experience to assign work to regular sprints.
  • Triage and assign digital marketing tasks received from business units to available resources within the web team, communicating with requesters and supporting escalation as required.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Digital Experience and business leaders to collect requirements and write detailed specifications for website and ecommerce improvements.
  • Work on projects autonomously while mentoring the web team in project work, bug fixes, and daily tasks.
  • Maintain team resource dashboards and digital development roadmap for communication to business leaders.
  • Lead weekly sync meetings, daily standups and sprint retrospectives for the web team as required.

Education and Experience: 

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of front-end development experience, ideally in the B2B sector or with a large business managing multiple brands.
  • Demonstrated experience leading small development teams remotely.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and tasks using online tools such as Monday.com, Jira or ClickUp.
  • High proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML and basic proficiency in PHP.
  • Experience with LESS/SASS and Git will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing responsive websites, ecommerce and email platforms, ideally across a range of vendors and tech stacks.
  • Exposure to WooCommerce, Magento or BigCommerce will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in converting wireframes produced in Figma to final responsive designs.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing measurement and event tracking in Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, particularly ecommerce measurement.
