Role Description

The Business Development Representative (Commission-Based) is a flexible part-time hybrid role based in Colombo, with the ability to work remotely. This role is ideal for undergraduates, fresh graduates, and professionals interested in technology sales, business development, and digital transformation solutions.

The representative will be responsible for identifying potential clients, generating qualified leads, presenting Slash Developments’ products and services, and closing business opportunities. Unlike a traditional sales role focused on a single product, representatives can market and sell the full portfolio of Slash Developments solutions, including SaaS platforms, custom software development, web development, mobile applications, POS systems, IoT solutions, cybersecurity services, automation tools, and future technology products.

Successful representatives will earn commission for every client and project they bring to the company, creating unlimited earning potential based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and approach potential clients and business opportunities.
  • Promote Slash Developments’ software products and technology services.
  • Market SaaS platforms, inventory management systems, custom software solutions, websites, mobile applications, POS systems, and other digital products developed by the company.
  • Understand client requirements and recommend suitable technology solutions.
  • Generate leads through networking, referrals, social media, email outreach, and direct engagement.
  • Conduct client meetings, product demonstrations, and business presentations.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and project discussions with support from the technical team.
  • Follow up with prospects and assist in closing deals.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Track sales activities and maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with technical and marketing teams to align client requirements with available solutions.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or completed a degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in technology, software solutions, and digital transformation.
  • Good understanding of SaaS business models and how modern cloud-based applications operate.
  • Ability to understand business problems and identify suitable technology-based solutions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Comfortable engaging with business owners, managers, and decision-makers.
  • Previous experience in sales, software marketing, business development, or customer-facing roles is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of website development, software development processes, digital products, and technology services is strongly preferred.
