About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join our team on a project basis. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions, with the ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes within project timelines. Experience with CNC machining processes and G-code programming is highly desirable, as the role involves developing AI-driven solutions related to manufacturing and automation environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning models for real-world business applications.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines, model training workflows, and inference systems.
  • Develop solutions using modern AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and generative AI where applicable.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and manufacturing teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Analyse production and machine-generated data to optimise performance and efficiency.
  • Integrate AI solutions with existing software, hardware, and industrial systems.
  • Participate in model evaluation, testing, deployment, and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Prepare technical documentation and project reports.
  • Ensure solutions meet quality, reliability, and security standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering or related roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and common AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or similar.
  • Experience with data engineering, model deployment, and MLOps practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience working with databases, APIs, and software integration.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CNC machining operations and manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and working with G-code.
  • Understanding of CAD/CAM systems and industrial automation environments.
  • Experience with computer vision, predictive maintenance, or smart manufacturing applications.
  • Exposure to Industrial IoT (IIoT) and machine data analytics.
