IT Technician

We are looking for an IT Technician who is eager to learn and grow in the field of Information Technology. This role offers hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining IT systems, hardware, servers, and basic network infrastructure while receiving guidance and training to develop strong technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT hardware.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Assist with VMware, ESXi, Windows Server, Linux Server, and Active Directory administration.
  • Support basic Linux server configuration, user management, permissions, services, and package updates.
  • Assist with MySQL installation, database configuration, user privileges, backup, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Install and configure Nginx/Apache web server, virtual hosts/server blocks, SSL certificates, and basic web hosting settings.
  • Support user account management, password resets, permissions, and basic Group Policy tasks.
  • Perform hardware upgrades, software installations, driver updates, and system maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot basic network issues including LAN, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Assist with router, switch, firewall, and basic network device configuration under guidance.
  • Support structured cabling tasks including cable crimping, patch panel work, and keystone jack installation.
  • Assist with data backup, system recovery, antivirus protection, and basic cybersecurity practices.
  • Maintain IT asset records, repair logs, support tickets, and technical documentation.
  • Provide timely end-user support and escalate complex issues when required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, Windows Server, Linux Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing
  • Basic understanding of VMware, ESXi, virtualization, and server environments is an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux server administration, command-line usage, user permissions, services and package management.
  • Familiarity with MySQL installation, database setup, user management, backup, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Nginx installation, configuration, server blocks, SSL setup, and basic web hosting concepts.
  • Knowledge of network cabling, cable crimping, routers, switches, and pfsense firewall is a plus.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity practices, antivirus tools, backups, and data protection.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues logically and document solutions clearly.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to support users professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, willingness to learn, and ability to follow instructions.
  • IT certification, diploma, or associate degree is preferred but not required.
