Engineer - IT Network Support

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Network Engineer to support and maintain the Bank's branch, ATM, and data communication networks in a 24x7 banking environment. The role involves ensuring network availability, security, and performance while troubleshooting network issues and coordinating with vendors, telecom providers, and internal teams to ensure uninterrupted banking operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, maintain, and support the Bank's WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, branch, ATM, and departmental network infrastructure.
• Ensure high availability and uptime of critical banking services and connectivity operating in a 24x7 environment.
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify network bottlenecks, failures, and security vulnerabilities.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for network incidents using network monitoring and packet analysis tools.
• Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and related network security devices.
• Support routing and switching technologies including VLANS, STP, EtherChannel, OSPF, BGP, and other enterprise networking protocols.
• Coordinate with telecom providers, ISPs, vendors, and third-party support teams to resolve incidents within agreed SLAs.
• Maintain network security standards, secure configurations, and access controls.
• Support ATM connectivity and resolve branch communication issues promptly.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, branch setups, migrations, DR activities, and technology enhancement projects.
• Maintain accurate network documentation including network diagrams, IP schemes, configurations, and incident reports.
• Provide after-hours and on-call support for critical incidents when required.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Telecommunication, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in enterprise network administration and troubleshooting. Professional networking certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are an added advantage.
• Strong experience in Cisco networking environments, WAN/LAN, VPNs, MPLS, routing and switching technologies.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, network monitoring, and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark is added advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in banking or financial sector environments will be an added advantage. Self-motivated with the ability to work in a 24x7 mission-critical environment.
