Lead Engineer - Database

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead and manage our centralized database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in implementing advanced database technologies, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability while aligning with organizational and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of state-of-the-art technologies to deliver efficient, scalable, and high- performing solutions for centralized database infrastructure.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement database technologies and platforms in line with evolving business requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS security standards by implementing robust security controls, including vulnerability management, access controls, encryption, and database auditing, while adhering to the Bank's policies and procedures.
• Oversee database performance optimization, including analysis, consolidation, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure optimal system efficiency.
• Conduct in-depth troubleshooting of database systems, identify root causes of issues, and implement timely and effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business continuity, system enhancements, and ongoing database improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission.
• Minimum of three (03) years' experience as a Database Administrator within a data center environment.
• Professional certification in Microsoft SQL Server Administration or other DBMS technologies such as DB2, PostgreSQL, or similar platforms.
• Certifications in VMware or Nutanix will be considered an added advantage.
• Strong project management capabilities with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• In line with our focus on innovation, knowledge and experience in Artificial Intelligence (Al) will be a strong advantage.
