NVQ IT Teacher

Job Description

The A.Y.S. Gnanam Village Heartbeat Empowerment Centre (VHE) in Dambulla is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our centre as an NVQ Information Technology Teacher to deliver competency-based training programs in accordance with TVEC (Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission) guidelines.

Educational Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 5 or above in Information Technology / Computer Hardware / Software Engineering/ ICT or a related field (NVQ Level higher than the course level preferred).
• Diploma or equivalent qualification recognized by TVEC or a recognized awarding body.
• National Teaching Certificate (NVQ) / Teaching Methodology Certificate will be an added advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum 1-2 years of teaching or industry experience in the IT field preferred.
• Practical experience in computer applications, hardware, networking, or software systems.
• Experience in competency-based training (CBT) and NVQ assessment procedures is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver theory and practical training aligned with NVQ competency standards.
• Prepare lesson plans, training materials, and practical assessments as per TVEC requirements.
• Conduct continuous assessments and maintain trainee progress records and portfolios.
• Support NVQ assessments, moderation, and quality assurance processes.
• Maintain discipline and create a learner-centered training environment.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of IT laboratory equipment.
