About the Role:

We are hiring a hands-on Senior Software Engineer who can own architecture and delivery while leading people and process. You will drive secure API/platform development in Laravel, front-end delivery in React, and coach engineers, improve delivery practices, and collaborate with product and stakeholders to meet business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

  • Design, lead, and review end-to-end solutions across Laravel services and React (TypeScript) apps.
  • Optimize MySQL (indexes, transactions, locking) and Redis/Horizon queues, guide zero-downtime migrations and caching.
  • Establish observability (structured logging, tracing, metrics, SLOS) and drive incident response/post-mortems.
  • Champion secure coding (OWASP ASVS), secrets management, least-privilege access, contribute to ISO 27001/PCI-friendly practices.
  • Optional: lead Al/OCR/LLM microservices in Python, support mobile features with lonic/React Native.

People & Delivery Management

  • Mentor, coach, and develop engineers
  • Lead sprint planning, estimation, and execution, unblock teams and manage delivery risks.
  • Set coding standards, review PRs, and improve CI/CD, testing, and release hygiene.
  • Partner with Product/Design/QA/DevOps and communicate clearly with stakeholders and leadership.
  • Contribute to hiring (interviews) and onboarding playbooks.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years building production systems & 3+ years hands-on with PHP (Laravel) and React.
  • Deep SQL expertise (query plans, indexing, isolation levels) and practical performance tuning.
  • Security-first mindset: JWT/OAuth, HMAC/webhooks, CSRF/XSS/SQLi prevention & secrets management and key rotation.
  • Queues/events (Redis/Horizon), background jobs, idempotency, retries/backoff, DLQs.
  • Proven leadership: mentoring, breaking down projects, facilitating design reviews, and stakeholder communication.

Valuable Extras:

  • Payments exposure: LankaQR, 3-D Secure, settlements/reconciliation, chargebacks.
  • AWS (S3, RDS, ECS/Lambda), Docker, Nginx/CDN & infra-as-code familiarity.
  • Python for Al/OCR/LLM pipelines (Google Vision/OpenAI) and microservices.
  • lonic or React Native for mobile apps.
  • High-performance Laravel and advanced caching strategies.
