RECOVERY DATA ANALYST - DEVICE FINANCING (SENIOR EXECUTIVE GRADE)
Location: Head Office (Colombo 14)
As a Recovery Data Analyst - Device Financing (Senior Executive Grade), you will be responsible for analyzing recovery data, managing dashboards, and developing data-driven strategies to reduce delinquency. You will build segmentation models, identify early-warning signals, and support treatment strategies through insights and testing. You will also manage data pipelines, prepare executive-level reports, ensure compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while guiding collections staff in the effective use of analytics.
You will report directly to the Senior Manager - Device Financing Recovery and be part of a dynamic team within the Non-Banking Financial Services sector. THE JOB ROLE
- Own daily/weekly/monthly dashboards for recoveries, including roll rates, DPD movements, vintage analysis, flow-to-write-off, cures, promises kept, and agent productivity.
- Build and maintain risk segmentation and propensity-to-pay/response models to optimize calling, messaging, and field allocations.
- Identify early-warning signals and recommend proactive strategies to prevent delinquency roll-forward.
- Perform vintage and cohort analyses for new originations and promotional campaigns.
- Design & iterate treatment strategies (call cadence, SMS/WhatsApp /e mail content, settlements, hardship programs) using data insights and A/B testing.
- Develop contact and queue-prioritization logic for dialer lists and agent workflows.
- Collaborate with dialer/telephony teams to optimize call windows, retry logic, and RPC performance.
- Manage end-to-end data pipelines including extraction, cleansing, transformation, and preparation of model-ready datasets.
- Produce accurate, executive-level reporting packs for recovery KPIs and performance metrics.
- Automate recurring dashboards, reports, and alerts; maintain documentation and the analytics backlog.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, customer treatment standards, and Sri Lankan recovery guidelines.
- Maintain strong data governance, including lineage, access control, and audit trails for strategies and models.
- Partner with Collections Operations, Product, IT / Data, Risk, Retail, & external partners such as device vendors & telcos.
- Train collections teams on dashboards, scorecards, and analytical insights to support smarter decision-making.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Finance, Economics, IT, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of analytics experience in banking / NBFI, telco, fintech, or collections/BPO.
- Experience in collections analytics and Power BI within a financial services environment is highly preferred.
- Exposure to device financing or consumer lending is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong productivity with proven ability to prioritize tasks & manage time effectively.
