About the team

The team is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join an international organisation. In this role, the engineer will focus on migrating a legacy Python service to Go within GraphQL API services, using internal tools and processes built by the GraphQL platform team. The ideal person thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and collaborates effectively across globally distributed teams.​

Key responsibilities

• Migrate and refactor existing Python logic into Golang within GraphQL API services.​
• Rapidly learn and adapt to internal tools, systems, and processes to accelerate the migration effort.​
• Collaborate closely with engineers across multiple teams to ensure smooth delivery and integration.​
• Debug complex issues quickly and provide clear, actionable solutions that can be implemented with confidence.​
• Maintain high‑quality, well‑tested code with thorough validation and automated checks.​
• Identify and implement improvements in migration tooling, developer workflows, and observability.​

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, ideally in a fast‑moving or high‑growth environment.​
• Strong expertise in Golang and Python, with hands‑on experience building production services.​
• Familiarity with GraphQL APIs, GraphQL Router, and GraphQL Federation is a strong plus.​
• Excellent debugging and problem‑solving skills with a track record of owning issues end‑to‑end.​
