We are looking for a motivated and skilled Associate Software Engineer with a strong understanding of the MERN stack to join our development team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in developing real-world systems using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.

You will be involved in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web-based systems while working closely with senior developers and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using the MERN stack
• Build responsive and user-friendly frontend interfaces using React.js
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend logic using Node.js and Express.js
• Work with MongoDB for database design, queries, and data management
• Collaborate with team members to understand system requirements
• Participate in code reviews and team discussions

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Good understanding of MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js (MERN Stack)
• Previous experience developing systems using the MERN stack (academic, internship, or professional projects)
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience with REST APIs and JSON
• Familiarity with Git / GitHub version control
• Basic understanding of authentication, authorization, and security concepts
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills
• Applicants should be based in or able to commute daily to Kandy

This is a fixed-term contract position for a duration of 4 months, with the opportunity to work closely with our engineering team on real-world projects.
