Project: Mohanji Datta Tapovan Construction Project

About the Role

We are seeking a Site Technical Officer (based in Kitulgala) to supervise and manage building and road construction works for the Mohanji Datta Tapovan Project in Kithulgala. The selected candidate will be based full-time on site and will be responsible for ensuring construction is carried out in accordance with approved designs, quality standards, and employer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor day-to-day construction activities for buildings and roads.
• Ensure all construction works are carried out according to approved drawings, designs, and specifications.
• Be responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) on site.
• Coordinate with the construction contractor and subcontractors.
• Liaise with the Design Engineer when technical issues or site challenges arise and assist in developing acceptable solutions in consultation with the Employer.
• Ensure proper workmanship, materials quality, and compliance with good construction practices.
• Monitor progress and report regularly to the Employer/Project Manager.
• Maintain site records, inspections, and basic progress documentation.
• Support compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• National Diploma / HND / NVQ Level 5 or above in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum five years of experience in site supervision or construction management.
• Experience in building construction and road works is required.
• Previous experience in a resident site position will be an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Sound knowledge of QA/QC procedures.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently at a project site.

Language Skills

• Proficiency in Sinhala and/or Tamil.
• Good Working knowledge and of English ( must be able to communicate in English)
