The Opportunity
Are you a transformation leader ready to architect the future of banking? Our client, a leading financial firm in Sri Lanka, is embarking on a landmark Core Banking Digital Transformation.
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to serve as a foundational architect for this journey. This is not just a "maintenance" role; it is a high-visibility position designed for a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between legacy banking stability and modern digital agility. You will lead the readiness phase, drive vendor selection, and establish the governance framework that will define the bank’s digital future.
Key Strategic Pillars of the Role
- Digital Roadmap & Readiness
- Conduct deep-dive studies into existing gap assessments to operationalize transformation.
- Define the "Target State" operating model and develop a phased, multi-year execution roadmap.
- Establish institutional digital governance and Agile delivery frameworks from the ground up.
2. Vendor Leadership & RFP Management
- Lead the end-to-end RFP (Request for Proposal) process: from creation and evaluation to final vendor selection.
- Conduct rigorous vendor capability assessments and due diligence.
- Manage the critical transition phase as vendors are onboarded into the delivery ecosystem.
3. Change Ambassadorship & Bridging
- Act as the primary bridge between internal stakeholders, technology vendors, and partner institutions.
- Translate complex legacy banking processes into streamlined, modern digital practices.
- Champion a culture of Agility, facilitating ceremonies and ensuring clarity across Epics, Features, and User Stories.
4. Risk & Capability Building
- Establish robust delivery metrics and governance dashboards for senior leadership.
- Proactively track and mitigate RAID items (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies).
- Identify internal skill gaps and lead structured knowledge transfers to build a sustainable, in-house delivery capability.
Candidate Profile
The Must-Haves:
- Experience: 10+ years of proven Project or Program Management experience, specifically within Financial Services, Core Banking, or FinTech.
- Transformation Expertise: Prior experience in early-stage digital transformation or large-scale system migrations is highly preferred.
- Education: Master’s Degree in Project Management, an MBA, or a related field.
- Agile Proficiency: Deep experience with JIRA and hybrid delivery models.
- Certifications: CSM, CSPO, or SAFe certifications are highly desirable.
