DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer (Hybrid Windows & Linux)
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly autonomous and expert DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to be the core technical authority responsible for our server security, operational stability, and rapid deployment capabilities. This role requires a unique blend of high-level Windows and Linux System Administration expertise, a deep commitment to DevSecOps principles, and hands-on experience in automating the delivery of both traditional and mobile applications from GitHub to production. You will be instrumental in defining and automating our server lifecycle across both operating systems.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud & Infrastructure Operations
- Server Lifecycle Management: Design, configure, and maintain the health, performance, and stability of high-availability server environments running both Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop, maintain, and version control all server configurations and infrastructure provisioning using automation tools (e.g., Ansible or Terraform) to ensure consistency and speed.
- Monitoring & Observability: Implement and manage centralized monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging solutions (e.g., ELK Stack) to proactively manage server performance and quickly diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Disaster Recovery (DR): Contribute to DR and Business Continuity planning related to core server and infrastructure components.
Security, Compliance & DevSecOps
- Security Hardening: Implement rigorous security best practices across all Windows and Linux servers, including firewall configuration, secure SSH/RDP access, and user access control (Principle of Least Privilege).
- Vulnerability Management: Automate server patching, manage updates, and integrate automated vulnerability scanning tools into the deployment process.
- Secrets Management: Securely manage sensitive credentials and configuration data using industry-standard tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault or cloud services).
- Auditing & Documentation: Create and maintain clear, up-to-date documentation, including security policy reports (SOPs) and compliance-ready audit trails for system configurations.
Development & Deployment Pipeline
- CI/CD Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain robust Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI) for both web-based and mobile applications.
- Version Control: Expertly manage code repositories, branching strategies, and user permissions within GitHub.
- Deployment Expertise: Oversee the packaging and deployment of both traditional software and mobile applications, ensuring seamless delivery to production environments.
- Containerization: Utilize and manage Docker for application packaging and runtime consistency.
Required Skills & Experience
- System Mastery: Expert-level, hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting both Windows Server (including PowerShell and fundamental Active Directory/GPO) and Linux (Bash scripting and deep command-line proficiency).
- Automation: Mandatory experience with a Configuration Management tool (Ansible preferred) for automating complex server configurations.
- CI/CD: Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining automated deployment pipelines.
- Version Control: Expert use and administration of Git/GitHub for enterprise-level source code management.
- Security: Strong background in server hardening, security policy implementation, and vulnerability management on both Windows and Linux OS.
- Work Style: Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage time, and execute projects with minimal supervision.
Desirable (Bonus Points!)
- Experience with advanced container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
- Proficiency in a higher-level scripting language for advanced automation (e.g., Python).
- Experience with mobile-specific deployment and distribution tools (e.g., Fastlane).
What We Offer
- Competitive salary (commensurate with experience and skills).
- Supportive, collaborative, and results-driven team culture.
- Professional development funding and certification opportunities.
- Opportunity to define and lead the future state of our server infrastructure and development process.
